TLC Medical Mysteries

I was watching some of my DVR shows on TLC and Medical Mysteries got recorded instead of my show, any who, it was about a little boy who was 3 who had a diaphragmatic hernia and his stomach was in his chest.

yeah-exactly what I thought!!! The little boy was throwing up and they didn't know why-did x-rays and found his stomach in his chest.

But did he had surgery? any treatment?
Yikes these shows that only talk about CDH like it was not a really bad congenital problem and that it does not take our children away....they really fustrate me :(

they made it very serious, they said that he needed to come to the ER right away to have surgery. They explained and showed what it looked like inside him and animation. But he was out of the hospital shortly after that and back to normal, which from reading on here isn't the norm.

I think I saw that episode? I think that they mentioned CDH and said that he had a form of it and that he had a hiatal hernia. Which I believe is when the stomach slips through the diaphragm. I could be wrong.
