Prayers for your kiddos Lynn. I, too, here in Vermont have had a sinus infection since 9/2.

Sounds like Ethan is doing well in pre-school. Praises for that.

    Hugs from Vermont,

    Maria

Thank you, Tracy. I read your comment on my other post, too. Thanks for the encouragement. We were very surprised at well everything went. He had one bad day this week and got in trouble for telling the teacher "no" when she asked him to do something. But other than that everything went great. Thanks for all you do, Tracy.

Just a good update Lynn! Way to go Ethan on the eating! Just the tiniest of amounts is progress for him! Love to hear that he is trying.

So excited for him to be starting pre-k! Sure hope the environment helps him out a lot. He is growing up way too fast! I remember him just arriving into this world and coming up on your carepage. He is such a strong boy and I hope he does well with school and likes going. He is going to have fun!

Sounds like you have had a fun summer and Ethan has enjoyed it. Love to hear that he is in that question phase, so much fun! To see the world through his eyes is so neat.

Tell Ethan good look with school!!! Will be thinking of him and you!

That is good is eating is coming along, he is trying and tasting things...what a big step for him. He has grown so much...I remember his NICU days. He is such a champ in my book and so happy to read that he will be going to preschool soon. I think this year will be a very big year for Ethan. Tell that sweet boy we are so proud of him!!

Thank you, Tracy. We are very excited for him to go to preschool. He is looking forward to it as well. He says, "I will start school and wear big boy underwear." He's so funny. His eating is still coming along very slowly. He is biting more and tried some cotton candy and liked that. He will drink anything now and asks for chocolate milk regularly (especially those little YooHoo drink boxes). He is making distinctions between salty and sour flavors and lets us know if he doesn't like something at all when he tastes it. He still does not tolerate anything mushy. If he licks a cheeto puff or something like that, he only licks a few times (he actually likes the salt and cheese on it) and won't turn it around to lick the other end. He doesn't want to touch the part that has gotten a little soft. He names different foods and likes to have a plate in front of him when we have meals, so that is a great improvement. He's grown so much.

Sounds like a very good appt. Lynn! I am so happy to hear that you found a preschool for him, what fun he will have being around other kids his age! He is doing great with the potty training...look how far he has come, so proud of him!

That is good the doctors are watching his diaphragm and patch. How is he doing with eating?

I hope 2013 is a great year for Ethan!!

Thank you. The tooth fairy was a big deal. Ethan kept looking in Christa's mouth to see the gap where her tooth fell out. When she told Ethan the tooth fairy left money under her pillow, he kept looking under his pillow. It was funny. Maybe he will hold the fry longer. Anticipating that time but enjoying the moment. Thank you, Maria. I think about you and Jade often. Your encouragement means the world to us.

What wonderful news to hear his eyes are straight as an arrow!! He will get use to the glasses as time goes on and he is adorable in them. It sounds like with him going and getting them and putting them on, he knows he needs them to see better. Hope the orthotics help too. Biting a french fry is a wonderful start....so proud of him. Maybe next time, he will let the french fry linger before spitting it out. The tooth fairy was at the Howard house, so cute! I bet Ethan was amazed with that. Have a good summer!

That is great that Ethan is doing good from the surgery!

Hey Tracy. Thanks for keeping up with all of us. It must be so time cosuming to stay on top of everything. I think his eyes look in the middle already. He goes back for a follow up on June 1. He's doing really great. The doctor just said that the majority of them work the first time but over time some kids eyes go back crossed and have to do it again. But for now he's doing great. His eyes are really red. They said that could last for a month or so. It takes a while for that blood to absorb sort of like a bruise. His eyes look bloodshot. I can't get a picture of it. He squints his eyes closed everytime the camera shoots. They're sensitive to light right now.

That is good the surgery went well! He is a strong boy, glad he was able to come home after surgery. That has to be tough to keep him from rubbing his eyes for two weeks. Hope he feels better today and you see improvement from the surgery with time. How long did they say it would take to know if the surgery worked?
