Glad to hear back from u!!! And glad ur son is doing great and how much does he weigh. Sorry i was thinkin u was there at the same time as us but he went there nov. 29 and stayed till jan.27 but he was in the ECMO room to and there was a little born that was in there when we got there and he was doing really bad and maybe it was the same boy that was there when u was there since we came a couple weeks after u left that little boy had to be put on the ECMO machine around the same time they was planning Damion surgery and he was there acouple of weeks before we showed up and i really was so scared listening to them talk to the parents when we first got there cause i didnt know what to expect and when we heard we were going into surgery i seen the pain in the other boys parents eyes and i felt the pain for them and prayed for him everynight that boy would make it to surgery but i never found out cause they did surgery on Damion in the Surgery room right behind the ECMO and thats where stayed for about a week then when they moved him i didn't see them but maybe once around the time he was getting released, anyhow Dr. Hendrickson did his surgery to and we still see him so often at the Surgery Clinic for his CDH and G-tube bc he did both surgerys i loved him the first time he took him for surgery and he seen how Damion wasnt strong enough to handle the surgery since he was only 2days old he came and told me he has kids of his own and he would put no kid in the pain that Damion could of felt because he wasnt strong enough for the anisesia, i felt like he really cares about my son. Nurses were alot of different ones but i liked Noel, Sherri, and Donna i think the most but there was alot of different ones that were good but i had acouple of bad ones too. My son is great right now he just started growing alittle more closer to where they want him at but still smaller than normal for what his Doc. from the special care clinic says, i think he looks normal to me he weighs 13lbs 9ozs and will be 6months may. 29th, and june 12 he gets his g-tube out but he only used it a week in the hospital and 4days at home i wish we never had to get it but it got him home so i was happy then. There has been alot of acid reflux as well he is on the prilosec too... but i have had some worries but nothing that has scared me to go to the ER.

Hello, Heidi! It is very nice to hear from you. I wish we could have met as well. We were there from Sept. 19 to Oct. 24. When were you there? They had us in the ECMO room for the first few weeks before we moved to the general population. We shared the ECMO room with another little boy that had a right CDH. Who were your doctors? Hendrickson did the surgery and our main nurse was Amanda. How is your little guy doing now? Ours is doing great. He is weaning off the prilosec and is healthy as a horse. He struggled with reflux when we first came home, but not now. He is eating solids and trying to crawl (he is almost 8 months). The last doctor visit they were amazed that he is in the 75th percentile in height/weight. I am so proud of our little guy!
