Jagger is doing great he has not had one set back since I took him home 10 months ago. He hasn't had a cold the flu or anything (crossing my fingers). I have been super lucky that he is a healty little boy. He is going to be turning 1 in 23 days. I keep thinking where did that time go? He has been walking for about a month now he really really wants to run but hasnt figured that out yet ( I give is a week). He says a few words like Mama and Dada, Nana and Papa. He is just AMAZING and I am so proud that I get to call him my son.

He has brought so much love and joy to my family I cant truly put it into words. He has showed me that anything is possible so I have decided to return to school to pursue a nursing degree. I have set my sights high and have chose NICU level 3 nursing degree and certifications. My heart is in it for the partents who will be facing the worse times like all of us did. I cant think of a better way than to be there in NICU with them. My sister has also decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in Respritory Therapy. All of this because of one little boy. It's crazy how a little baby changes the lives of everyone around it. :D

Jagger will be three months old in 10 days. I can't believe it, it seems like he has been here so much longer I think due to all the stress we had when he was first born. He has been going to physical therapy for the past two weeks which seems to be working. At first I was a little reluctant becuse I never knew new born physical therapy existed. He seems to be doing better with his feedings and his acid reflux. I do wish I could waive a magic wand and cure him of his heartburn and stomach aches and what ever else he will face.

He met his great grandparents for the first time yesterday. They drove all the way to Las Vegas from San Antonio to celebrate Mother's Day with us. We are soo happy they came, Jagger is amazed by my grandpa he sits and stares at him for hours with a periodic grin. He instantly had my Nana wrapped around his little finger. I know for sure he will be more spoiled than he already is once they go home. :D

Jagger has been home for 1 month as of today. He has been doing great he has not been sick at all (knock on wood) he is perfect. Although he does suffer from reflux which he was just put on medication for. So far in his first month home we have gone on his first road trip. He loves car rides as long as you don't get stuck in traffic or at a red light, he for sure is a "Go baby." When I look back at pictures of him during his hospital stay I don't even recognize him. I guess that is my brain not allowing me to relive the most horrible time in my life. Thank god Jagger pulled though everything he has had to go though. I am so greatful that Jagger picked me to be his mommy.

Jagger has passed his car seat test, hearing and vision tests, his breathing is steady (no oxygen), he is gaining weight everyday, he is eating on his own and we passed the sleep over test, yet for some reason they dont want to release him. I know Jagger is ahead of schedule and has amazed all his doctors at how well he is doing. Believe me I am greatful that he has had the care he has received and without them Jagger would not be here today but it is time to come home to his family. He is strong and ready I can see it in his face he is like his mother and does not have very much patience.

This is my first blog ever in my whole life.
A month ago today I had my first baby and never thought we would make it this far. Jagger was diagnosed with CDH during the 5th month of my pregnancy. My doctors lead me to believe that this was an easy repair/problem to deal with. They said that after Jagger was born that he would have his surgery and we (Jagger and I) would be home within that week. Obviously my doctor's/specialists were/are idiots. Anyway, it has been three weeks since Jagger's repair he has had a speedy recovery he has been ahead of schedule since the day he was born. He was scheduled to be born on 2/22 but decided that he wanted the 21st to be his birthday, he was off all oxygen exacly 1 week after his surgery when he was expected to stay on his vent for at least a month and he is now scheduled to come home this Friday. We did however have one big set back feeding. Jagger was a little aprehensive when it came to eating he does suffer from sever acid reflux but a change in formula seems to have done the trick. I guess my point in this blog is to not always believe what is told to you by all the doctors and specialist that you come in contact with during these trying times. My biggest advise is to keep your head up even though you want to curl up in a ball next to your babys incubator dont do it they sence everything, stay strong for your baby because he/she needs you now more than ever.
