Well I haven't been on in a few weeks, but I'm proud to announce that baby Gavin was born 6/11/2013 @ 9:57 pm!!!!!!!! ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ :D :D he's been in the NICU ever since, they did the repair surgery on friday afternoon. He still has a patch on his stomach because his bowels couldn't entirely fit in his abdominal cavity... he has been stabilized and on meds to help with his blood pressure, and today he just got on Nit 0 for his pulmonary hypertension. They said that it wasn't a scare and that he was doing well on it. My major thing now is trying to cope with the fact that he's there and I'm here. How did you mothers/fathers cope with your babys in the nicu while you had to go home wvery nifht? Hubby and I are looking for hotels close by the hospital, but if it were up to me I'd be in the NICU day and night lol... please share some of your methods... how you acted, what you did, and how you thought. I'm pretty confident of him recovering I'm just getting really down about not being able to stay near him 24/7 so thatsbwhere you guys can maybe help. Thanks, Casey

well I haven't updated since our appointment on the 16th of April... Gavins Trachea is just a little too small for the stent , so they want us to come back on May 1st to check again, and if his trachea is big enough they're going to go ahead and do the surgery as quickly as the next day... I have a little extra fluid due to him not being able to breathe, but my cervix looks great , so no big concerns there... also his height, and weight is at the 52 percentile so he's doing great!!!!
Anyone else have a little extra fluid?

I'm at 27 weeks now , and Miami told me that I didn't have to see my specialist anymore, but to see my regular OB; however, my OB can not deliever in Miami, and has really had only 2 patients with CDH, which he's sent to specialist, so everytime I see him he really doesn't do much, he'll just ask questions about how everything is going , and he'll listen to the heart beat, and do all like the regular pregnancy tests like glucose testing and such... needless to say The Doc and I both thought that Miami would be more involved, but I have not been seen in OVER a month... so my question to you moms out there is how many times per month were you being seen at 27 weeks +? I've had my amnio, my echo, and my Mri... getting my glucose testing on the 10th but the next time miami would see me would be on the 16th of april to make sure i'm ready for the surgery... something doesn't make since... I feel like I should be seen at least 2/ 3 times a month I dont know maybe i'm just really anxious and concerned someone please help me out with this question!

Well on April 18th baby Gavin is going to undergo surgery in mommys tummy. The procedure is very new, and cutting edge, but it's been successful thus far, and should help his little lungs grow. After the surgery i'll be on bed rest so that he can grow to be healthy, and strong until he's ready to meet the world. Now we're just praying that the insurance goes through, the procedure works, and that Gavin will be apart of this world with us! Chris, and I are trying to get extremely involved in the CDH community , so we have support, and help through all of this.Would love to hear about other stories to maybe help us through this rough time!!! SO happy I found you guys!!
