Hi my name us Angie and I'm currently in the process if trying to get custody of my CDH grandbaby that is in state custody. The state feels that I am not capable of meeting my grandsons needs since I am single. My 23 year old son ( babies uncle ) still lives at home however the state feels since he works full time he is not going to be able to help me and he requires 2 people to care for him. My grandbaby is doing great and is only on medication for reflux, takes a daily vitamin and has an inhaler. He does have a feeding tube which I have been fully trained to care, feed , and change it if needed. My question is are there any single parents out there caring for a CDH survivor and what advise can u give me. I have hired an attorney but he is not knowledgable in CDH.

Hi my name is Angie and I am from Phoenix, AZ. My grandson was born with LCDH. He was born at 33 weeks and had surgery at 10days old weighing only 3lbs. My grandson is now 14months old and although all looks good with his CDH battle I now have a battle with CPS. He was taken from my daughter as soon as he was released from the hospital at 3months old. He is in a foster home with a nursing student who has now made it a mission to adopt him and has been reporting that when we visit him we are not caring for him properly. I have taken several classes to learn to care for him but does not seem to be enough. His foster mom reports lie after lie to CPS about what his Dr's are saying. I have been to all his appointments and the Dr's all say how great he is doing and not needing to see him for 4months because of his progress. When we go to court a totally different story is reported. If we question it we are the bad guy and get reported for questioning this professional nursing student. I know I am capable of caring for him but feel like now I have to go to nursing school to prove it. I need prayer please ,I feel so helpless. I have done all that I think I need to do and have hired an attorney. Not one person there knows about CDH and are only going by what is reported.
