Baby Kanarra

looking for advice and information

I recently had my first echo on baby at 25 weeks. The doctors are telling me that they think she has only one side to her heart. And that her survival rates are much lower when she is born. I don't know if there is someone who has had a baby with cdh and a very serious heart defect survive. My daughter has a left side hernia with her intestines, stomach and part of her liver in her chest. I will have another echo done at 28 weeks. Can someone please give me some hope. I pray that maybe because her heart is pushed so far to the right that they just cant see both sides. Please if you or anyone has any info or has been thru this. Please let me know your experiences.

    Dear Stacey,

My son Dvij was born with Cdh. He had a left side her ia with intestines and liver in his chest. Since it was a left side hernia, the left long did not have any space to grow and the heart had moved to the right side. This wasn't detected during scans and was diagnosed only at birth. He under went a surgery on day 2 of birth. It was a testing phase for us. But being the champ that he is, he overcome all his challenges. We got him home in about 20 days. He is doing amazing ever since. He is 4 now and is awesome at school.

I want to tell u that miracles do happen. Pls have faith. Be there for your daughter. She can do wonders with her mother by her side. My prayers are with you and the baby.

    Hope this helps.

    Love

    Anita

Thank you for telling me your story it helps alot because everytime I see the different doctors our survival rates keep going down. I am trying my hardest to keep my hopes high and continue praying for a miracle. The scary part is they think she is missing the left side of her heart and also her stomach is right next to her heart. Everyday I feel her kick and everyday I continue to believe that whatever happens in July is all gods will. Thank you again and I am so glad your son is doing well
