Rate this Entry
My name is Morgan Nuchols, I was born July 26th,1993. Had a undetected Severe form of Left Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia, born 2 weeks early, mom's water leaked for 3 days until I was born at Torrance Hospital. After I was born, turned blue couldn't breath, was helicoptered to Huntington Hospital that was the closest that had a ECMO machine. Was on that for a week until first diaphragm hole got fixed. Had 0 diaphragm muscle and 1/4 left lung size, at 3 months old they repeated that operation. As I aged it got repaired, by age 8 was first diagnosed with Pulmonary Hypertension. Always had oxygen tubing off and on. By age 12 my spine was curving to left side, 2 rods and 15 screws where placed. A year after in 2007 got intestines repair and my last diaphragm hole repaired. Graduated 8th grade. Graduated High School in 2012. Soon will be starting 3rd PH medication. I'm very happy to find other patients like me, and there parents.
Love, Morgan Nuchols

In 2006 had Scoliosis rod placed on spinal cord, a year later my last diaphragm hole opened up and Intestines got lodged in the hole, that whole year age 13-14 repaired stomach and diaphragm hole. Graduated 8th grade with classmates, only had few seizures at home during High school. For 2 almost 3 years been working at boss's child daycare.. Have had NO major health issues for 9 years so far and my PH is stable for right now!!! =D <3

Since finding Cherubs it's helped me know not the only one with Severe left CDH and PH on board no matter how many years, knowing as the very few older ones with this combo. Helping out new families with my long story what Parents and I learned very quickly with not knowing others while I grew up. All the knowledge I've learned from my story what I went threw and helpful baby video recordings dad put together for all 4 of us kids. All confirmed everything even more, not just on here. Thank you everyone to help out with confirming puzzle pieces of main pin points from my long story! Stay strong and Positive everyone, yes it is a long rollercoaster ride but can be overcome with few health issues or not to many. Even with Pulmonary Hypertension on board it can appear again but it can keep stable too with few medications and eating healthy.
