CDH/ DORV with VSD

Rate this Entry
Hi all I am Haley from a small city in Alabama called Reeltown. I am currently 26 weeks pregnant with my second beautiful baby girl named BryLee Khole. On November 9, 2016 my heart was shattered when I went in for a repeat anatomy scan and the tech detected a possible CDH and said her heart had slightly been deviated. I was sent to a high risk doctor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for a more in depth ultrasound.. While at UAB the doctors did the hour and a half long ultrasound and finally told me that BryLee not only had the left sided CDH that had pushed her heart to the right of her chest, but she also has a heart defect called Double Outlet Right Ventricle (DORV) with a hole called VSD. I only thought my heart was shattered when I first found out, but I was absolutely devastated. My heart fell out of my chest. I couldn't do anything but cry for several days. I know that God is in control now and he is going to take care of my sweet baby girl..The doctors did tell me that on the plus side with her CDH was that her liver had not herniated into her chest.. We have our first team meeting with the Pediatric Cardiologist December 12th and we will have our second team meeting with our pediatric surgeon on January 18th 2017.. If anyone has dealt with these two together I would love to know your story and how you or your sweet babies are doing now.. We are terrified and don't even know if we want to have anymore babies after this in fear of it happening again.. God Bless all of you who have and who are going through this.
