[color=dark red][/color]Hey all! I just figures that it's been so long since I have been active here. Well since Katrina hit us a couple of years ago. Thank God we were one of the lucky ones and only had a tree on the roof. Our neighbors had one through the top floor of there home. Yikes!
I have 3 munchkins here. Skylar is 9 and training into a beautiful young lady. I home school her in third grade and will continue hopefully into high school and on to graduation! She is so helpful to us with work around the house and with her siblings.
Adam is my blessed one! He is 5 years old now and a few years ago I was one crying on here that he won't do ... or asking how do whatever. Posting about how excited I was that Adam took an ounce of formula lol! He was born missing the entire right side of his diaphragm. He was airlifted to Oschner hospital in New Orleans to a wonderful surgeon Dr. Adoplh. The hospital was 70 miles from where he was born and almost 90 from our home. We didn't know about the CDH until after he was born. Those were the worst three hours of our lives. He had his repair at 3 days old. The Dr found a multicyctic dysplastic kidney. Adam needed ECMO to recover from the vent he was on and the surgery. He was on it for 10 days. He had a respirator for 22 days and oxygen for 44 days. All total he was in the Hospital for 63 days. He had surgery for ECMO, a chest tube fundoplication, g-tube, and 2 inguinal hernias. He was 9 months old when I went on to the list serve and told everyone very excitedly to say he took his first ounce of formula. the next day he refused it and started to wheeze. He fought the bottle for another 2 months after his first major asthma attack. By 13 months the g-tube came out.
He is now in Kindergarten and Home schooled as well. He also receives speech therapy once a week.
Katelyn (Katiebug)is the baby at 19 months old. She is so funny. Always vocal. She can't shut up. She sings and dances. She is a blast to have around always smiling and laughing.
Dana and I are about to celebrate our 10th anniversary and we can't wait! We have a great date planned. We are going to a great sushi bar and then a movie that doesn't have animation or kiddy themes. The kids picked the last couple of movies so we want something for big people lol!
He is putting air ducts in new construction for AC. I am working as an insurance inspector. I love my job! I work about 1 day a week. I show up fill out a form come home and put the form in the computer.
