Faith, the only Acquired Diaphragmatic Hernia I have heard of was after birth. I have not heard of it occurring in the womb by blunt trauma. I would think that it would be very, very difficult for that to occur- but I haven't done the reserach on it. Like I said before, for right-sided, it is hard to see liver on an ultrasound, so the OB might have missed it and is now looking for an excuse why. Also, CDH occurs when the diaphragm is developing around 9 weeks, however, sometimes the organs don't move up until later in the pregnancy. This is what supposedly happened with Dakota. My 20 week ultrasound also looked fine, it was at 29 weeks that the CDH was detected. I know for sure that the heart had not shifted until sometime between 20-29 weeks. I will let you know if I find out anything else!
I am praying for peace for your family!!
    Hugs,
    Jennifer

I think i am just going to send her records to another doctor and get a second opinion. There are so many times that it could have been picked up but wasnt. Like the night she broke her arm....no ultrasound....she was dehydrated and had to go to hospital...no ultrasound....i think the doctors around here were very careless and i want to make sure they take the time to look from now on!
