Ethan this week

Ethan has had a great week. He has a cold now but seems to be doing well. Just a runny, stuffy nose. Praying it doesn't go to his chest. He has a couple of doctor's appointments coming up in the next couple of weeks (pulmonologist and GI). I am curious to see what they weight him at. On our scales he weighs just about 40 pounds. Our daughter, Christa, weighs just over 40 pounds at almost 6 years old. His formula has really kept him on the plus side of the growth chart. Christa will be getting her tonsils out in a couple of weeks. She has had a continuous sore throat since March. The ENT said her tonsils are very swollen and just before closing her throat. She doesn't eat very well. Even though Ethan has been through some big surgeries, I am still nervous about this. I am going to hate to see her in pain but I know once it heals she will feel much better than she does now. Ethan is learning new things all the time. He put a Dorito chip in his mouth. He hasn't done this for a while. I think it was last April when he did this. He liked the salty stuff on it and licked it several times. Maybe we are going to see him turn a corner with his eating. He is beginning to make the "r" sound in his words. His therapist said that is very good, as this is one of the last sounds kids learn. He understands things but can't say them. He says "momo" for open. It took me a long time to figure this one out. Now he brings me a water bottle and says, "momo" and I can say "open". Maybe he will, in turn, figure out what I am saying. He's so cute.
