I went yesterday for another u/s and appt.
They told me that he had what is called Polyhydrothesis something. I guess its alot of amniotic fluid around him or something. No one had mentioned
that to me. It kind of bothered me. But, they said
that it doesn't harm the baby, just can make me
uncomfortable. As far as I am concerned every
thing makes me uncomfortable these days.
But, they checked me and I am dialated at 0. 60% effacement. Nothing really happening there.
My blood pressure is doing great and the baby is
passing his biophysical exams and moving alot.
The plan of induction is the first week of Dec.
So, I am hoping I can keep him in there until then.
One thing that happened yesterday is you never know what people are going through. You can
get so consumed with what you are going
through you can easily forget that other
people might be going through something
horrible. The nurse that took me back and
did my vitals and all had mentioned while we were talking that she lost her baby at 2 months
old. He would have only been 6 months ago.
He was found to have a double aorta, that they didn't know about, and was choking while he was eating. I am not sure what he passed away
from, but he did pass. It broke my heart.
She seemed to be doing ok, but sitting there my heart went out to her. I had no idea, and here I am talking about my situation and had no clue that she had went through this. They didn't
catch it in the regular u/s and only by the echocardiogram that they could see that is what he
had. More and more I am thinking that u/s
aren't efficient and translucent (if i used the right word) enough to find out the defects and
problems. How many moms have I talked to
that didn't know their babies had cdh?
If it wasn't for a miracle that we were sent to a specialist because an arrythmia was detected
and that he had only a 2 vessel cord we probably wouldn't have known either. It makes me
think that all babies. moms should have one
echocardiogram done for screening to make
sure that everything is fine with the heart.
Bc it doesn't make sense and things could be
prevented or at least be prepared if that is the
case. So, I am going to be thinking of this.
I dont know how to even begin to see how to
get this passed. But, it definitely needs to be
done.
well, love you all.
