Just Peachy

I like setting the mood to "angelic". :)

Well, it's been a crazy 2 weeks.

CHERUBS... We've had over 50 new members since the site has gone live. We've had a lot of people overwhelmed by all the information. I'm not sure that's good or bad. We have a couple of new volunteers and lots of current volunteers really stepping up and helping out. We've had some behind the scenes drama that we've been dealing with for 3 years but we're above all of that immaturity. We've had some issues with people having too large photos trying to upload and I don't know how else to fix that except allow any size photos but CHERUBS can't afford the server space for that. I'm hoping everyone will figure it out. Thankfully, a lot of members have been helping each other with that. We have such a great group here!!! :)

We have had a couple of big donations (huge printer, cruise for a fundraiser, and a donation from carwash held by some elementary school kids). We are planning the golf tournament, Angel Ball, 2008 Conference, kids books, yearbook, CDH Research Results, another newsletter and so much more that my head is spinning. We need more volunteers! We need more donations for New Member Packets and the 2008 Conference! We need to reach as many CDH parents as we can so no one goes through this horrible path without information and support!

Personally... life is peachy. Up to my ears in work trying to finish up 2 huge web sites. It's been hard lately balancing all CHERUBS stuff with work stuff. As much as I love CHERUBS, I have to put my company first so I can pay the bills. I'm so thankful my company is doing ok so that I can work from home and have a flexible schedule to work on CHERUBS too. And I have some great clients lately, a couple of who want to help with CHERUBS fundraisers. :)

Craig kidnapped me to Williamsburg this past weekend for a romantic getaway after a stressful week for both of us. Busch Gardens Halloscream and Colonial Williamburg were wonderful and the B&B was so beautiful. I do have the most amazing boyfriend in the world. My feet and legs hurt from all the walking though - I really need to get into shape and lay off of the Mountain Dew. At Busch Gardens at night they had staff dressed up in costume following people around, especially in haunted mazes. Every where we went some creepy ghost followed me. Didn't matter if there was 50 people in the crowd, they would find me and follow me. My mother always said that I was too nice, that if there was one crazy person in a crowd, they would seek me out! Again, she was right! And the costumes were so real looking... yuck, it was very creepy. I must say, Busch Gardens spares no expense when it comes to their decorations and costumes.

This month I get to spend time with my family soon and one of my nephew's birthdays is coming up. I have no idea what to get a 14 yr old boy for his birthday.

I went to my first hockey game 2 weeks ago to see the Carolina Hurricanes. Oh my gosh, that's a violent sport! Craig used to play professionally so I suppose I have to learn and be supportive, but wow! Men can be brutal to each other over a little puck. I must say I was rather impressed with the ice skating abilities of these guys. I can barely stand up on 4 wheels of rollerskates (thanks to being a child of the 80's)... how they can dart around on a thin piece of metal is amazing to me.

Craig's boys are playing fall baseball, they have 3 games left this season and then we're done until spring. I'm going to miss the games, I've really enjoyed going. I can understand baseball much better than hockey and football and basketball. I'm learning a lot about golf too lately and I really like it. I'm bad at it, but I like it. Craig and the boys play in a lot of tournaments year-round so that's been fun.

I have to start scrapbooking for Christmas soon. My sister passed away 5 years ago and I promised to keep her children's scrapbooks updated every year. I've procrastinated until October and now I'm scrambling! There's just been too much going on around here and not enough time in the day to get it all done. But I love scrapbooking and I still need to finish Shane's too. And I'm starting some new ones too.

Ok, back to work I suppose. I hope everyone has a great day! :)

Dawn...you do have a great boyfriend, (you're welcome Craig!) and it sounds like you had a great time in Busch Gardens. I can also relate to the crazy people finding me (my history and my family are a dead giveaway)

I am dating a few different people and having fun. Trying to stay grounded...I like one much more than the other...We'll see what happens

Kids are doing great adjusting to my family living with us.

Work is crazy busy. As soon as I finish one project I get wrapped up or volunteered to start another. Next projects are Team Building and Family Presence during Resuscitation and Invasive Procedures. I am still doing some teaching as well as involved in the Professional Development Council as Chair and Organ Donation Champion for the Washington Regional Transplant Consortium. My New Years Goal is to go back to school for my Master's and back off some of the volunteerism for work. I am getting the itch to get my Nurse Practioners License again.

Hope to catch up with you soon. Hugs
