So I am starting this blog quite late. My daughter was diagnosed with CDH in 2013, and I never felt the need to write about it. But lately, it's all I can think about doing. So I've decided to write about her journey and where we are now. It's probably going to take me many days and several posts to catch up, so bear with me.

I found out I was pregnant with my second child in October of 2012. I had an almost 2 year old little girl, Penelope, we call her Penny. We live in western Nebraska. Both my husband and I are from eastern Nebraska and were coming back from a weekend trip with family The drive is 7 hours long, so lots of time to think. I had been so tired towards the end of the trip and I was noticing that my lower back was hurting. I told Aaron, my husband I thought I might be pregnant.
I decided I was going to take a pregnancy test when we got home.

When we got home Aaron was sick, so he went to bed to lie down. I told him I was still going to take the test. I took it and waited, Penny was with me. The test said I was pregnant and I was so excited. I screamed and jumped up and down with Penny, she was excited too, but I'm sure she didn't know why. We went into the bedroom and told Aaron. Poor guy was so sick, he just gave me a thumbs up. Oh, well, Penny and I had a celebration!

This was going to be a new beginning for our family. Everything was great, we had so many blessings in our lives and were adding another.
