Expecting Baby Addie 9-20-18
Hello my name is Kim my husband and I are expecting our second little girl, Addie Marie. We have a perfectly healthy very active little 3 year old named Hailey.
We found out at our 20 week ultrasound that our little girl had CDH. We have been to two specialist since both confirming CDH. She has a LHR between .5-.8 (first ultrasound showed .8 second ultrasound a week later showed .5) but they also found a few other possible complications. She is smaller than expected, only 14oz. Her arms and legs are a little shorter than they should be last ultrasound. She has fluid around her kidneys and they also said her head shape was a little off. The doctor said in a normal pregnancy those things might work them selfs out but with also the concerns of CDH it might be a sign of a genetic disorder.
The first specialist we saw mentioned FETO but said being her liver was not up she would not qualify. Our second specialist said we may qualify because her lung is so small and her hernia is so large they are worried about lung function after she is born. My husband and I have mixed feelings about the risks with FETO and as of right now have decided to continue with my pregnancy and look into options for her surgery after she is born.
Have eco schedule in a couple weeks and mri a few weeks after that to re evaluate Addies condition.
Praying she is a strong fighter to make it through this journey. I love her so much already I can’t imagine our lives without her.
Was hoping for some advise or encouragement. Has anyone’s experience or situation been similar to ours, with low LHR, with good outcomes?
