    April 19, 2013 - International Day of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia Awareness

    April 19th is just around the corner! We have been asked by Senator Sessions' office to march to the Capitol again for 2013! We are also planning Parades of Cherubs in many cities.

    Our goals this year are:

    Congress to proclaim April 19th the International Day of CDH Awareness
    25 States to proclaim April 19th the International Day of CDH Awareness. Click here for a sample letter to send your Governor and Mayor
    50 Cities to proclaim April 19th the International Day of CDH Awareness
    Parade of Cherubs on Capital Hill on April 19th
    Parades of Cherubs in 15 cities on April 19th
    Involve 10 hospitals in the Parade of Cherubs
    Light Up The Night or other event in 3 countries on April 19th
    Virtual Parade of Cherubs
    Light up the White House on April 19th
    Light up 1 more national monument on April 19th
    Have at least 25 CDH families hold events or fundraisers for CHERUBS on April 19th

    If a parade is set to happen in Philly I\'ll attend there. If not, I\'ll be in DC.

    Jessica, I think Karla, the PA rep., is working on something at CHOP....sure hope she can get something going there this year!
    Tracy - mom to Ian, LCDH diagnosed at birth, 4/3/04. Ian was born at 36 weeks, spent 53 1/2 days in NICU, 7 days on ECMO, surgery was on day 5, 29 days on a vent, 23 days was an oscillating vent, 546 days on oxygen. Inguinal right and left hernias and undescended left testicle surgeries were done on day 48. Currently has heart related medical issues and exercise induced asthma, but is one happy, happy boy!! Also mom to Cole - 13, Shane - 9, and Toby - 4. CHERUBS Parent Advisory Board Member and Co-Chair, Volunteer Co-Coordinator, and Wyoming State Representative.
