Ethan's eye surgery went very well. He had some trouble keeping his O2 up after the surgery so we had to stay 2 1/2 hours after they finished but then he was ok. He's irritable but doing well. They said not to rub his eyes, get water in them or get dirt around them for two weeks. The ride home was good; he slept a lot of the way and he's been asleep for a little while this evening.
WOW!!! Way to go Ethan! He is so smart and love the progress he keeps making. I am proud of him! I have followed Ethan's journey since he was a baby and it is so neat to hear all of the good that is happening in his life. Praying for a successful surgery on Thursday. Let us know how it goes. Wonderful news Lynn!!! Ethan is a super star in my book! That is so good that things look better than last year and hopefully with his therapy, he keeps making leaps and bounds in progress, with his eating and speech. Nothing will stop Ethan, he has proven that!!
Blessings to you all! These little folks leave me in awe of their courage, bravery & strength. Onward Ethan! May each step only get better! Maria
I let Ethan drink some Coca-cola today and he loved it. He kept wanting more. His therapist was impressed with his speech this week; OT and PT were impressed as well. The baby steps are great. It makes me think he is going to turn a corner and I am getting a little excited. But I would rather him go slowly and take some baby steps than to go backwards. He has this toy that tells you to "jump up and touch your toes". He has been attempting that and following the directions it gives. Very positive actions although he can't jump well and gets tired quickly. He just smiles and smiles. Thank you all for your encouragement. I can't wait to see him eat.
Yes, baby steps. So glad to hear he's doing well.
Sounds like progress to me! So glad you were able to get therapy up and running again. He is on his way with his eating...baby steps in the right direction.
Praises for each step forward! Onward, Ethan Blessings, Maria ~ Nonna to Angel CHERUB Liam ("The Lion") Anthony Hunt
Thank you all. I don't know how he got so big getting his nutrition from a feeding tube. They always make sure he is well up on the growth curve. At his last appointment he was at the 95th percentile for his weight. All those extra calories really do pack on the weight and growth. It doens't hurt that he had an uncle (now deceased) who was a very tall, large man. His hair grows faster than we can keep up with it. He got a haircut last weekend. He hated it as usual. They always try to give him a sucker to get his attention off the haircut. I don't even tell them anymore that it isn't going to work because he's not going to eat it. I let him pick one in the hopes that he will unwrap it and chow down. One day he will. Tracy, you have always been so encouraging. Thank you for that. This is what you were meant to do. I hope Ian and all the family are doing well.
He is making progress! I saw a picture of him and you posted on facebook this morning on the CHERUBS page...he is a cutie pie! I love that he is using small sentences. Hope the insurance kicks in soon for approval. Ethan is always a winner in my book!
Yay For Ethan! Onward & Upward! Blessings, Maria
Lynn, This is such exciting news for Ethan! What a beautiful blessing! God bless you all and keep up the hard work, Ethan! Jade
I'm glad to see him doing better with his speech. He has missed therapy 4 weeks in a row now. The insurance is taking forever to approve therapy. They used to be fast but the last year or so we have had a lot of trouble waiting on approvals.
We were very surprised he drank it. It's wonderful to find something he likes. We did have a great Christmas. Happy New Year to all of you, too.
That is great he drank for a juice box!!! Making progress. Praying Ethan has a good year and Happy New Year to you and your family Lynn! Sounds like Christmas was great for the kids.
May you have a beautiful Christmas, surrounded by much love, laughter and happiness. (((HUGS)))
Lynn, I am glad to hear that Ethan is doing so well and that he and Krista enjoyed Disney on Ice! We considered taking Landon, but I still cannot bring myself to go to Boston. Not yet... too soon... the wound is too fresh. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season filled with laughter, love, health, and happiness! God bless you all! Fondly, Jade
