  1. Barely avoided another surgery

Well it's been months since I've logged in here, frankly with coaching my daughters cheer squad and being on the board I just kept too busy. During all the craziness Kate was told she would need another surgery. Since the surgery in May she had difficulty getting food down and staying down, she found comfort in eating the gelatin fruit snacks and would eat multiple packs per day. Well unfortunately she wasn't digesting them well and ended up with a wad of undigested gelatin in her stomach. This ...

  2. Holidays.....and the Heart

Wow! The last few days have been so very hard. We are four weeks in to grieving for our sweet angel girl Ari and it does not seem to get any easier. I read so much on this site and know there are others grieving as we are. I just breaks my heart even more. I went to the cemetary today to see my little lady and be close to her. I find it more comfortable to talk to her when I am driving and than sitting at a place where only her "shell" resides. I miss her so very much. I miss all ...

  3. Henry Davis Williams

Henry Davis Williams was born 11-13-12 at 3:23am and passed just a few hours later.

The doctors cannot give us a concrete reason why Henry passed away. Oddly enough, the one health problem we knew Henry was suffering from, congenital diaphragmatic hernia, played no part in his passing. He had a good lung, and it was working hard. Henry had a severe case of metabolic acidosis and despite the doctors best efforts, it could not be cured. The doctors also feel Henry had Fryns syndrome, ...

  4. Stomach Ulcer, anyone else's Cherubs have this issue?

My daughter recently went in for her 4th repair. While recovering she encountered a couple of issues. They did an X-ray of her abdomen and discovered a lot of air in her abdomen.

To make a loooong story short, they had to do an emergency surgery and ended up finding an ulcer like hole in her stomach about the size of a quarter. This was patched up and she is now recovering. Again, we are running into issues so she will have a catscan done a little late on today.

    The ...

  5. Settling in to our loss

We lost our precious baby girl just 2 1/2 weeks ago on October 25th. It was the saddest day I have ever experienced. She was absolutely beautiful and perfect on the outside. I tell myself that is why God took her after only 7 hours with us. While our doctors told us this was a possibility due to her CDH, we never imagined it would or could happen in the year 2012 as we had so much expertise and technology on our side. At birth it was discovered she virutally had no lung tissue on her left side ...
