We went yesterday for an ultrasound and to see the doctor. The ultrasound was actually interesting as it was the first time I could actually see the trail of bowel( a thin white line) that was from his chest to his diapghram. The doctor said that it was probably where the opening is. Everything is pretty much the same as we have already known, but I guess since we had the MRI they can see more of his lungs and see that his one lung is underdeveloped, they called it Hypoplasia. So, we weren't suprised by that, as well as his abdomen measures in less than 5%. A few weeks ago his abdomen was measuring in the 46 so it was interesting that it has gotten so much smaller. I am not sure what that means. The doctor explained that much of the time with these babies their abdomen is small because the organs to make the circumference of the baby is up in his chest, so since most of his intestines are up, that might be the reason its small. The doctor still seems amazed though that his stomach is still down, and his kidneys and liver and all are down as well. They are going to run fetal doppler with the ultrasound starting in 5 weeks and do that for 5 weeks straight on his 2 vessel cord, to determine what the cause of his small abdomen is. If its from the CDH or is he just small. I dont understand all of those details of it, but I do know that we are trying to stay positive. His growth measurements are good though and his head and everything else is running perfectly normal. I have to stay calm and stress free I know, and keep my blood pressure down because they want me to have him at like 38 weeks or later. So far my vitals are perfect. I just have to keep it that way. We are still believing for a miracle.
