Once your little one arrives ask as many questions as you need, don't focus on the equipment just see your beautiful baby. Spend as much time with Cooper as you can, and if you don't understand or don't think/feel something is right speak up. Even though you aren't having a typical getting to know you/bonding time with your little one, you still know Cooper better than anyone else. Those nurses are there to help you and in my experience will do anything to make this process easier for you but they still don't notice all the small things you do. Even if you have to say things more than once or twice don't be intimidated my the medical staff. Take lots of pictures, bring family in as you like, although family are interested and comforting they can at times be exhausting as well. They all mean well and care for your baby but this entire process is exhausting and time alone with your baby is important. We were only in the NICU for about 3 1/2 weeks, 1/17-2/9, and are home with our sweet Caleb now and I pray that your experience is as "smooth" as ours was. But either way take it day by day don't focus on the end or what's next too much because there are set backs at times but great victories as well. Focus on the positive, spend as much time at the NICU as you can, pray daily and stay rested yourself. If you have any other questions please message me.

Prayers and positive thoughts are with you
