Dawn,
I keep thinking that this project would be so great for local high school Key Clubs. The key club at the high school where I teach is one of the largest in PA and they are always collecting stuff like this for community service projects. With so many schools now requiring community service for graduation I can't believe there aren't kids out there that would take this on at their school. Just a thought...
I will continue to do the dress down day at my school. In fact after the dress down day the key club advisor told me her kids are ready to do any kind of work CHERUBS might need (stuffing envelopes, putting together packets, etc.) as they always want to get service hours and are very competitive about it! They collect a number of these items already for various projects and do stuff connected with the Ronald McDonald House and CHOP so I don't know if they would be willing to add CHERUBS to the list but I will certainly ask in the fall when school starts again!
Many schools have community service clubs. It may be as easy as sending a few emails.
